ArseA — Forged in Fire, Tempered on Stage

by V's Metal Media

When talking about Italian metal acts that have clawed their way from the underground and onto some of Europe’s most respected stages, one name demands your attention: ArseA. Formed in 2006, these veterans have earned every scream, every spotlight, and every square inch of the stages they’ve conquered — from grimy clubs in Rome to massive festival grounds across the continent.

What sets ArseA apart isn’t just their technical mastery or sonic weight — though they deliver both in spades — but their unyielding evolution, their ability to morph, grow, and strike harder with each incarnation. While others fell to fatigue or compromise, ArseA powered forward, driven by pure metal blood and the will to dominate.

Forged for the Big Stage

Their rise began early, in 2008, when ArseA was chosen from over 300 bands to represent Italy at METALCAMP in Slovenia — a major milestone for any up-and-coming act. From there, the band carved a relentless path through Europe, sharing stages with Brutal Truth, Cripple Bastards, and pushing boundaries in both sound and ambition.

By 2010, their slot at Magic Circle Festival IV placed them alongside titans like Manowar, Arch Enemy, and Kamelot. With the addition of synth wizard Ivan Fusco, ArseA’s sound reached a new level — epic, atmospheric, and crushing all at once.

From Rome to the Main Stage

The years that followed were a blur of blistering shows and rising momentum. Their debut full-length, A New Dawn (2015, Revalve Records), solidified their sonic identity — thunderous yet refined, technical yet primal. The album’s release catapulted them to the frontlines of European metal, with high-profile slots at More Than Fest in Slovakia and Maximum Rock Festival in Romania, where they stood tall beside heavyweights like Children of Bodom, Stratovarius, Kamelot, and Moonspell.

But it was in 2017 that ArseA took things to a new level. Their appearance on the main stage of Bulgaria’s HILLS OF ROCK festival saw them hold their ground next to global giants like Evanescence, Guano Apes, Three Days Grace, and Epica — and they didn’t just blend in, they blasted through. It was a defining moment. This wasn’t a support act anymore. ArseA had become a headline-caliber force.

The Order Has Been Issued

After enduring the global standstill of 2020, ArseA didn’t crumble. They entered the studio with razor focus and emerged with Order of Mantis — a record that’s as venomous as it is visionary. Released on July 29, 2022, and unleashed live on the main stage of Portugal’s mighty VAGOS METAL FEST (alongside Testament, D.R.I., and Emperor) — it was a triumphant declaration: ArseA is still rising.
