NOORD Unleashes ‘The Grand Design’ with a Thunderous Impact!

Like a raging storm tearing through the night, NOORD crashed into Antwerp City Music for their electrifying release show of The Grand Design! A night of unrelenting metal, bone-crushing riffs, and eardrum-shattering intensity—this was not just a gig, this was a goddamn battlefield!

It’s a damn shame that winning the Alcatraz Battle wasn’t enough to grant them their rightful spot at Alcatraz Metal Festival. But mark my words, these guys won’t be held back for long. The raw energy, the sheer musicianship, and the undeniable stage presence they bring—it's only a matter of time before they conquer a festival stage worthy of their name. I’d put money on it: one finger in the nose, dripping in bling, and effortlessly dominating the crowd.

The last time I saw NOORD was with SEVI in Club Hell, and that night it became crystal clear—these guys are on a fast track to something massive. With new songs like Ritual, Shimmer, and Sunking, they’re crafting anthems that will obliterate venues far and wide. And while Pilgrim has always been my personal favorite, Ritual might just change that—it’s an absolute ripper!

From the very moment the doors swung open, Limburg-based thrashers Fear Disease wasted no time in cranking the volume to ear-splitting levels. These guys know how to set off alarms—blistering riffs, relentless drumming, and vocals that cut through like a buzzsaw. Respect where it’s due: they set the bar sky-high!

And then came Far Beyond, stepping in and immediately taking command of the stage. The energy was raw, the crowd was hungry, and when frontman Angelo threw the question into the crowd—“What song should we play next?”—the answer came back like a war cry: Far Beyond! Beers were flowing, throats were screaming, and the walls of Antwerp City Music were barely holding together. If this venue didn’t have such solid foundations, these maniacs would’ve brought the whole damn place down!

Then, the moment we had all been waiting for. NOORD., The Antwerp-based modern metal titans took the stage with their brand-new album The Grand Design, and from the very first note, it was absolute carnage. After meticulous soundchecks and double-checks, they deemed it time to rip the place apart—and holy hell, did they deliver!

From the blistering aggression of Pilgrim to the eerie depths of Lilith, from the unstoppable force of Ritual to their relentless old-school bangers—this was a set that hit like a knockout in two rounds. Every grunt, every snare hit, every hi-kick, every riff—it was executed with machine-like precision and the fire of a band ready to to take over the world.

This wasn’t just a gig—it was a declaration of war. NOORD isn’t here to play games. They’re here to dominate.

Mark my words: the next time you see them, it won’t be in a club. It’ll be on the biggest festival stages out there, leveling everything in their path. And when that day comes, you better be ready!

And just when you thought the night had reached its peak, When Plagues Collide stepped up to ensure the chaos continued. The twisted minds among us were in for one hell of an afterparty—an inferno of brutality to burn everything down to the ground! I have no doubt that Cédric and his disciples, along with all the other bands that made this release show unforgettable, can be damn proud—because this was a bullseye, a perfect shot straight to the heart of the metal scene!
